Archers Give Great Lakes Some Great Competition

This past Saturday, January 27th, the Moody Archers played division opponent Great Lakes Christian in their second game of the weekend. Coming off a hard loss the previous night and having only 7 players on the active roster due to injuries, the Archers were looking to rally together to work on some of the struggles they've faced on both sides of the floor. With Great Lakes being a .500 team in their division, they provided a hot fire for the team to be refined in.

In the 1st half, the Crusaders came out swinging, hoping to catch the Archers off guard with a full court press. But the Archers did text book job of breaking the press the majority of the half. On the other hand the Crusaders were not prepared to face the stifleing two-three defense of the Archers, which all but elinminated the inside game of the Crusaders, limiting their offense to three-point heeves that were quite ineffective throughout the first half of play. Despite the good play from the Archers, the Crusaders were up 8 to end the half.

The second half was a different story. Great Lakes started to shoot better, Moody got tired, and the game started to unravel. The Archers were helped quite a bit by the...Crusaders, shooting a woppping 21 free-throws in the 2nd half alone, but it was not enough to keep up. The final score was 95-70.

The Archers will have only a week of rest before they play another double-header weekend against Boyce College. See you there and GO Archers!
