The Men's Basketball team travelled to Trinity Christian in Illinois this past weekend to play in a small Triangular with the Trolls and the St. Ambrose Hornets. They came into the weekend being the odd-man-out, as both Trinity and St. Ambrose were NAIA teams, but the Archers still competed at a high level and made improvements that will show against those in their division.

Thier first game was against the home team, Trinity Trolls. Through the first 12 minutes, Moody was running with them stride for stride. With about 8 minutes left in the first half, the Archers were only trailing by 3 points, Andrew Hall leading the team to a good start. But with the depth of the Trolls bench and their consistency on offense, they gained a 13-point lead at half. In the second half, Trinity continued pulling away and ended the game beating Moody 49-77.

In their second game Moody played St. Abrose, who would go on to beat the Trinity Trolls. The Archers did not have as good of a start against the Hornets and found themselves down by 18 at half. The Hornets defense made moving the ball a struggle for Moody and they ended the game with an assist-turnover ratio of about 1:2. Andrew Hall and Tre Walker found the bottom of the net, combining for almost half of the Archers' points, but it was not enough to beat out the Hornets. They lost 51-95.

Although the Archers have started this season 0-3, there is much hope for the team going forward. When asked about the games, Donavan Wright said, "Those NAIA teams are tough, but it will make playing our division easier". Being out of downtown Chicago, the Archers' schedule is tough, but this will make them an experienced team when it comes to playing in the post-season.

They will play another NAIA team this Saturday (Holy Cross) before they travel to Iowa to play Emmaus Bible College, an in-confrence matchup. GO ARCHERS!
