Final Game of the Semester Ends with Close 68 - 63 Loss for the Archers

The Moody Bible Institute Archers hosted their last game of the semester this Saturday against the Calvary University Warriors. Both teams played hard and were quick at the basket, which ended in a close 68 - 63 loss for the Archers.

Coach Scott commented, "Learning how to win doesn't happen overnight, and this season is a process in figuring out who we are and what we can do. We played really hard today but ran out of gas a little too early."

Right from tip-off, both the Archers and the Warriors fought for the ball and the Archers defense showed to be a challenge. The Archers had a total of 12 steals and 4 blocks on defense.

Kristian Stultz (34) owned the 4 blocks, 2 steals, and 6 defensive rebounds. Trey Haidle (3) pushed hard for the Archers as well with 5 steals, 4 rebounds and scoring 10 points.

Bobby Kirpas (20) scored 19 and Aaron Roser (23) scored 14, leading the Archers on the offensive side of the ball.

Coach Scott went on to say, "Credit to Calvary for not quitting and digging themselves out of a tough spot. We are continuing to make progress and improve as a group and hitting speed bumps along the way is expected. The guys will need to take this time off to stay conditioned and work on getting better. I have increased expectations for the second semester and look forward to seeing where we can go."

The Archers will be back next semester with a home game against Andrews University on Thursday, January 16 at 7 pm.
