WXC Picking It Up at Bethel

Bethel University Cross Country Invitational

The lady archers once again braved the chilly, overcast conditions to place 13th out of 20 teams, and to average a team-time of 20:58; thirty-four seconds faster than they averaged at the Loyola Invitational two weeks ago.

Junior Summer Pierson led the team with a time of 19:35 to place 22nd, and seven out of the ten ladies running that day were able to improve their time from the race two weeks ago.  The course, which starts and ends in a grassy field after looping through the forested trails of St. Patrick's County Park, has been a long-time favorite of the Women's Cross Country team for its scenic beauty.

Seniors Mara Johnson, Emi Snyder and Jules Escobedo and Freshman Katie Nicholas rounded out the top 5 with great showings also by Rachael Miller, Victoria Benegas, Hannah Berkoski, Mystique Kalat and Mollie Hansen.

WORDS FROM COACH "I am really happy on how the team is improving but so much more enthused about how the team is bonding and really enjoying XC and each other!"

The Lady Archers will be competing again this upcoming Saturday, at the Oshkosh Invitational in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
