WXC Trying to Warm Up for Nationals in Freezing Temperatures

Thursday evening, the Women's Cross Country pushed through the frigid temperatures to run their final race before Nationals: the North Central Red/White Invite.  The 3-mile race, run simultaneously by both the men and women's teams.  

Junior Summer Pierson led the women's field with a time of 18:16, finishing first overall.  Senior Mara Johnson was the next Archer to finish, logging a time of 19:17 to finish 12th overall.  Senior Emi Snyder came next in 20:01, finishing in the top twenty.  Senior Juliana Escobedo and freshman Katie Nicholas clocked in at 20:45 and 20:49 respectively.  Following closely behind, senior Mystique Kalat, sophomore Victoria Benegas, and junior Mollie Hansen worked as a group to push themselves to finish in 20:59, 20:59, and 21:00 respectively.

The lady archers will be travelling south to Point Lookout, Missouri, to compete in the NCCAA National Championship race on Saturday, Nov. 16, hosted for the second year in a row by College of the Ozarks.  The women's championship race will be the morning of Saturday, at 10:00 CTS.  This event may be viewed live-stream on the NCCAA cross-country championship page, through twitter.
