Coach Jack Jordan begins his first season as the Archer’s Men’s Basketball Coach. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve at an institution so committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and dedicated to preparing young people and those entering ministries to serve our Lord. I am anxious to use my given skill set to aid our student/athletes as they prepare for their individual discipleships.”
The Oak Lawn, Illinois native is no stranger to the Teaching/Coaching Profession as this year will mark the 44 th year of his expansive career. Coach Jordan began Coaching at the age of 22, serving as a Men’s Assistant Coach at Trinity International University after competing at the college level in basketball and baseball at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. Since then, Coach Jordan has served 19 years on the collegiate level at 6 different institutions, ranging from the junior college level to NAIA, NCAA Division III, and NCAA Division I. In addition, he has taught and coached for 25 years on the high school level and has coached Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Football, Track and Field, and Golf.
Coach Jordan has enjoyed a great deal of success in his career which includes many accolades. He comments, “I have always been a believer that I would consider a season a success if I could make a positive impact on the lives of my student/athletes. The awards and honors I received would not have been possible had I not been so amazingly blessed to be able to coach so many talented and dedicated young people. I am a highly competitive person, and winning is the essence of competition. However, I also believe that goals can be reached, improvement can be made, life lessons learned, and Almighty God Glorified regardless of the final score or season’s record.”
Coach Jordan earned a MA Degree in Sports Management from The United States Sports Academy, has studied extensively on the graduate level in Education (55 hours). He earned his BA in Physical Education K-12 from Trinity International University and holds teaching credentials in both Illinois and South Carolina with endorsements in Adapted Physical Education and Driver Education.
Jack and his wife, Lori, attend Mosaic Community Church in Joliet, Illinois. They have five children and three grandchildren. Lori works with Special Needs Children in the Homer School District.
