ARCHERS TO FACE KUYPER IN THE FIRST ROUND OF MIDWEST REGIONAL

The Moody Men's Basketball Team will travel to Lansing, Michigan for the NCCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament. Tip-off will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm EST. The game marks the third time these two teams have met this season. The sixth-seeded Archers (3-20, 0-10) were swept by the third-seeded Cougars of Kuyper College (12-14, 7-4) in regular season play. In their first meeting Kuyper bested the Archers 85-58 in Grand Rapids. The second meeting in Chicago was a different story. The Archers shot extremely well from the floor and turned in their best effort thus far of the 2025-26 season, losing 109-102. "Anything can happen at Tournament Time," stated Moody Coach Jack Jordan. He continues, "Our guys have worked hard all season and have battled through much adversity. We have improved a great deal from the start of the season. These young men are capable of competing with any school in our region."

The Archers are led by Freshman forward Joshua Bartig, senior Captain Tre Walker and junior forward Demorion Jackson. Bartig is averaging 16.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and has been Moody's most consistent player all season. Walker, a shooting guard is averaging 10.6 points per game. Jackson has had a strong second half of the season. He leads the team in rebounding at 9.0 per game and is third in scoring with an average of 9.3 points per game.
