"Our players have been through a lot this year. Irregular practices, injuries, a challenging schedule, and the welcome addition of four new players at the break. They never quit. They never stopped working to improve. Guys were asked to play unfamiliar positions and play roles they were not used to. It might sound strange to some people, but I am proud of these guys. I coached them hard from the first days of the season on. To a man they believe that brighter days are ahead for the program. These guys are faithful followers of Christ, and I thank them for allowing me to Coach them." Moody Coach Jack Jordan
Moody travelled to Lansing, Michigan Saturday with the hopes of dashing the Crusaders "Senior Day" celebration. The home team would not be denied, defeating the Archers soundly 102-69. Forwards, freshman Joshua Bartig and junior Demorion Jackson led the way for Moody, as they have all season long. Moody Coach Jack Jordan comments, "Josh and DJ have been our most consistent players all year, I am so excited to see what the future holds for them both on and off the court." Bartig led the way with 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, Jackson pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds and scored double figures, connecting on 5 of 7 shots and a free throw for 11 points. Sophomore guard Marquis Allen added 9 points, 2 assists and a steal.
Though the Archers completed the Midwest Region schedule winless, (0-10) Jordan is quick to point out that the Region Tournament brings with it a fresh start and a new season. He comments, "Anything can happen in the Region Tournament (Moody plays Thursday, 2/27 at 2:00 pm at Great Lakes in Lansing, Michigan). We have improved with each practice and game, and I am confident our best basketball is ahead of us."
The Archers competed the entire first half of the season with seven healthy players on the roster and played one game, a thrilling 75-73 victory over Calvary College with only six players.
