In a game that featured multiple surges for each team, the Archers would show stretches of some of their best basketball of the season. Then they would have moments of mistakes and poor decisions that would see them fall behind 6-10 points. "At times tonight we played some really good basketball," stated Moody Coach Jack Jordan. "We would battle back, get close, then fall behind again. The guys are learning that it takes a lot of effort and energy to play from behind. One positive from tonight's game is that we were in the game from start to finish." Moody trailed by only six, 39-33 at the half.
The Archers had four players score in double-figures with freshmen forward Joshua Bartig leading the way with 17 points along with 6 rebounds on 8-16 (.50%) shooting from the floor. Junior forward Demorion Jackson turned in another solid performance connecting on 7-12 shots for 14 points and grabbing a team leading 8 rebounds. Freshmen guard Isaac Martinez scored 11 points and senior Captain Tre Walker added 10.
Moody will head down the stretch run of the season playing their final home game of the season (Senior Night) Tuesday against Kuyper at 6:00 pm at the Solheim Center. Seniors Jermaine Humphrey, Donovan Wright, and Tre Walker will be honored. The Archers will complete the regular season on the road playing at Grace Christian in Wyoming, Michigan on Thursday (7:00 pm EST) and Great Lakes Christian in Lansing, Michigan (3:00 pm EST) on Saturday.
