ARCHERS FALL AT HOME 88-58 TO REGION RIVAL GREAT LAKES CHRISTIAN

Using an aggressive, trapping defense, Great Lakes held the Archers to .35 % shooting from the floor for the game and 29.2 % from beyond the three-point stripe. "They were able to put a lot of pressure on the ball and their traps created a lot of problems for us. Defensively, we were unable to slow them down and had no answer for their penetration to the basket," stated Moody Coach Jack Jordan. The loss dropped the Archers to 2-14 and 0-2 in region play. Great Lakes moved to 1-0 in the region and 13-4 overall.

Sophomore guard Aaron Stewart from Concord North Carolina was a bright spot for Moody scoring 17 points while connecting on 6 of 9 shots from the floor, 2 of 4 from 3-point range, and was perfect (3-3) from the foul line. Junior forward Demorion Jackson had another big night on the backboards, grabbing 14 rebounds and scoring five points. Senior Captain Tre Walker chipped in 9 points and senior forward Donovan Wright 7. Moody will ravel to Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday to face Emmaus in another region tilt. Earlier this season, Emmaus narrowly defeated the Archers 82-78.
