It was an all-too-familiar scenario for the Archers who travelled to Elgin to face the Eagles of Judson University. Moody was outshot from the field managing only 31.8 % (21-66) and only 11% from beyond the three-point line (3-27). Their opponents shot 45-74 (.60%) from the field and 8-23 (.33%) from the three-point stripe, while dominating the Archers on the backboards 52-19. "It's very challenging to try and compete when you have only seven healthy players and cannot even come close to matching up with your opponent's size," commented Moody Coach Jack Jordan. He continued, "Our guys are not sitting around complaining. They go out each night and battle. I respect that a lot."
Freshman forward Joshua Bartig led the scoring for the Archers with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Senior guard Tre Walker scored in double-figures with 11 points, followed by freshman point guard Isaac Martinez with 9, and forwards Donovan Wright and Demorion Jackson each chipped in 7.
The loss dropped Moody to 2-8 with another tough road game coming up this Saturday at 1:00 pm EST at St. Mary of the Woods who defeated Moody earlier this season in Moody's Big Four Classic Tournament.
