At tonights games, Andrews jumped on the Archers early, shooting a superb 64.3 % from the floor which propelled them to a 49-29 lead at the intermission. "We got outplayed and out hustled in the first half," commented Moody Coach Jack Jordan. "They got all the loose balls, long rebounds and took the ball away from our guys on several occasions." The Cardinals 6'0 guard led all scorers in the game with 37 points, shooting 12-16 from the floor and 7-9 from the free throw line. Andrews forward Ian Ochieng had a big night with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Moody cut the Cardinal lead to 14 points in the second half but could not capitalize on several opportunities created by some good defense and a couple of steals. Added Jordan, "We played with a lot more energy in the second half but could not cut into their lead when we had chances to." Freshman forward Joshua Bartig led the way for Moody with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Senior forward Donovan Wright turned in a solid performance with 15 points and 8 rebounds and junior forward Demorion Jackson chipped in 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Moody will try to return the favor on Saturday when they travel to Berrien Springs, MI for a 7:00 Tip-off against the Cardinals.
