
In their first Midwest Region game of the season the Archers, who led at halftime 42-38, could not stop the outside shooting of the Egles. Emmaus shot a blistering 63.6 % from beyond the three-point line (14-22) for the game and an amazing 9-12 (75%) in the second half. The win moved Emmaus to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in region play. The loss dropped the Archers to 1-4 and 0-1.
"I think we played our best all around game of the year," stated first-year Coach Jack Jordan. He added, "All five of our starters scored in double figures and played an intense forty minutes of college basketball with only seven available players. I am very proud of the effort they put out tonight." Freshman, Isaac Martinez led the way with 21 points, 3 assists, and two steals. Senior forward Donovan Wright added 15 points shooting 7-14 from the floor, Freshman Josh Bartig also scored 15 to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and two steals. Senior captain Tre Walker chipped in 11 points while junior forward Demorion Jackson tallied 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Archers are back in action this weekend as Moody will host their annual "Big Four Classic". Friday night, Nov. 15 East-West University squares off against Saint Mary of the Woods in the 5:00 game. The Archers will face Calvary University in the 7:00 game. Saturday afternoon, East-West will face Calvary at 1:00 pm while the Archers will face St. Mary of the Woods at 3:00 pm.
