Archers Fall Short Against a Strong Saint Francis Program

On Saturday September 11th the Archers Men?s Soccer team travelled to play a tough University of Saint Francis Cougars team. During the first half, the archers were able to keep the game close by applying pressure on the Cougars defense, but their goalie was able to make some key saves. The game was looking like it was going to enter halftime scoreless, but the Cougars got a goal with less than five minutes to go in the first half. This opened up the floodgates for the cougars as they were able to score three more goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half, causing the Archers to lose 4-0 against the Cougars. ?Congratulations to St. Francis, they are building a strong program and have a clear gameplan of how they want to play. This was a great experience for us to grow against a strong opponent, and we had a lot of opportunities to work on playing against a low block and defending against long balls. I am very pleased with how we conducted ourselves, and we represented Christ well in our play, as well as our interactions following the game." Said Head Coach Jon Forsythe. Come check out the next Men?s Soccer game against Grace Christian on Saturday September 18th at the Solheim Center!
