The Moody Archers opened their home slate in strong fashion Thursday night, earning a 77–64 win over Dayspring Bible College. Moody established control early with a balanced attack, jumping out to a 38–29 halftime lead behind sharp perimeter shooting and active defense that limited Dayspring's rhythm.
Sherman Etienne led the way for the Archers with an impressive double-double performance, posting 20 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 8-for-14 from the field. Gary Michel provided a major spark off the bench with 13 points and five assists, while Cameron Scott and Isaac Martinez each added key three-pointers that kept Moody in control. The Archers outrebounded Dayspring 47–32 and held them to just 12.5% from beyond the arc. Justus came in strong with aggressive defense to keep Dayspring's Daniel Adams at bay in the second half.
Moody's depth proved to be the difference, as the bench contributed 24 points and steady minutes throughout the contest. The win evens the Archers' record at 1–1 and offers momentum heading into the next stretch of games. Coach and team alike will look to build on the efficient offensive showing and improved second-half defense as the young season continues. They face their next challenge away at Dayspring for round 2 of the duel!
