Milwaukee, WI- Thursday saw a second volleyball match on the season between Mount Mary and the Archers of Moody Bible Institute. On September 18th, the Blue Angels won in straight sets in Chicago. This time, at the Bloechl Center, the match would go the distance, and the Archers would pull out an exciting five set win.
Set one belonged to the home standing Blue Angels by a 25-20 score.
The second set was an exciting back and forth match up. In the end it was Moody winning by a 28-26 final to even the match.
MMU found the groove once again in the third set, cruising to a 25-17 win. The back and forth match continued to seesaw as Moody thundered through game four for a 25-10 victory.
In the decisive fifth set, the play was even for the most part. Unfortunately for the enthusiastic home crowd and the Blue Angels, Moody would score the final points for a 15-11 set win to clinch the match.
Harlee McDowell led the Blue Angels in kills with 14, while Latanisha Allen and Rosalinda Palacios added 9. Emma White racked up an impressive 31 assists and 13 digs, while Abigail Manthey recorded 38 digs to pace MMU.
Mount Mary (3-13) will now have two weeks off until their next match. On Thursday, October 17th, the Blue Angels will head to Watertown to take on Maranatha Baptist.
