Crusaders Cruise to Road Win

Crusaders Cruise to Road Win

CHICAGO, Ill- The Great Lakes Christian College Men's Basketball team was traveling on the road to Moody Bible on the same day they were ranked #1 in the NCCAA for the second time this season. The Crusaders came into the game winners of two straight. GLCC jumped on the home team early building a 20-9 lead and never looked back. GLCC used a balance attack to build a 52-30 lead into the break.

The second half was much of the same as the Crusaders length, athleticism, and speed were just too much for the Archers. The Crusaders would cruise to a 113-52 victory over Moody. GLCC would put six in double figures in the victory and had a season high 27 assists. Crusaders now stand 10-9 overall and 6-0 in NCCAA play on the year.

Inside the Box Score:

  • Crusaders shot a season best 58 percent from the floor on 46/80 shooting
  • GLCC was once again red hot from three shooting 13/27 from three.
  • Crusaders forced 24 turnovers on 20 steals
  • Trent Temple led the Crusaders with 22 points 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

What Coach Says:

"It is always nice to get everyone in the game meaningful minutes. I am happy that we won and everyone who played scored. Believe or not I was not pleased in the first half with our defensive energy or intensity. I felt like we just did not do a good job locking in and guarding. We tended to gamble, but in the second half I was much happier with our defensive focus of our guys. My hope is we can continue to build off of this and grow as a team defensively."

What's Next:

The Crusaders have two home games Friday and Saturday against Campbellsville Somerset and Welch College.
