The Women’s Cross Country ran their first 5k of the season at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational today at Montrose Beach Harbor, located just over five miles north of Moody’s campus

The lady archers were thrilled to see familiar faces of family members and fellow Moody students who were able to come support them despite the overcast day and cold temperatures.

Junior Biblical Studies Major Summer Pierson led the lady archers with a time of 20:30, followed by Mara Johnson (Senior TESOL Major) in 21:08, and Emi Snyder (Senior Biblical Studies Major) with a time of 21:21.  Freshman Katie Nicolas (Children and Family Ministry Major) finished in 22:07, with Sophomore Rachael Miller (Human Services Major) following in 22:25.

Coach Troy Fichter “I’m really pleased with how the whole team did today, and feel that we’re on track and building a foundation to set us up for the rest of the season.”

The ladies braved their way through the muddy course, placing seventeenth overall out of thirty-one teams in the women’s gold-race.

The lady archers next race is set for Friday, October 11th, at the Bethel Invitational at St Patrick’s Farm in South Bend, IN.
