Ben Worley And Jared Weix Lead Moody In Rivalry Win

DUBUQUE, IA – The Moody Bible Institute Men's Soccer Team claimed a 2-0 victory over Emmaus Bible College as they traveled for their first game this season.  The Archers are looking at a strong season, with a well-structured team and a dedicated coaching staff.  "It was a great day for the Moody Soccer program, as six players got their debuts as collegiate athletes," Head Coach Jon said, "I am especially excited for Kaden McCloughan (00), who recorded his first collegiate clean sheet on his first chance to get it." The Archers controlled the ball for the majority of the game and went into the half at 0-0.

"This was a great showing to get the season started," Coach Jon said, "We played well, created chances, and keeping their possessions while limiting them to only 1 or 2 real chances. We looked hungry to start the season, and it is always good to get a win against a regional opponent".

Ben Worley (15), with an assist from Will Snyder (9), scored the Archer's first goal, shortly followed by the Archer's second goal from Jared Weix (2), with an assist from captain Dani Martinez (10). The Archers kept the pressure on Emmaus through the whole game; the result of dedication on and off the field as a team. "The team has put in a lot of work during the summer and in the offseason to ensure that we were physically and mentally prepared for our season opener. We look forward to starting our season off on the right foot and praise be to God, we were able to do that," said Dani Martinez (10).

"We're happy with the win, and I'm hoping we can face the rest of the season by building from this positive result," said Dani Martinez (10). With such a strong start to their season, the Archers are eager for their next game, at home, against Viterbo University this Saturday.
